The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is a movie adaptation of the first part of the book The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. It details the adventures of a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins, thirteen dwarves (don’t make me name them), and the wizard Gandalf, who may or may not be there when they need him. Together, the fifteen of them encounter trolls, mountain giants, become captured by goblins, are treed by orcs riding wargs, and Bilbo becomes the unexpected owner of a mysterious ring. That’s only in this movie, and there’s two more to come!
I would highly recommend this movie to fans of Tolkien or people who like fantasy or enjoyed The Lord of the Rings. So far, the adaptation has been accurate enough to the book, with a few additions that add to the story and make it clearer and easier to understand. There may be parts that were not in the book, The Hobbit, but you can’t really say they weren’t in any of the books, can you?
