After an embryo mix-up at the fertility clinic, Carolyn Savage learned that she had become pregnant with another couple’s baby. Carolyn and her husband, Sean, decided that she would carry the baby to term and then hand him over to his genetic parents upon delivery. In this book, the Savages explained how they came to this decision and how it affected their lives during the pregnancy and after the baby was born.
While reading, I couldn’t help but think of what I would do if I were in this situation. I admire the Savages for their compassion and sacrifice. I appreciated learning how they dealt with this incredibly difficult situation. The book alternates between Carolyn and Sean’s point of view to give the reader a complete picture of everything they went through. This is an inspiring, emotionally-charged read.
